What you think about denim shorts overalls?? (Am Feeling 22)

Image
I don't normally go for what's in.. Yet of late I have been thinking about ''overalls".. Yes, "Overalls", I think they are so cute and fashionable. Not only that, but it is an easy way to look nice and trendy without a lot of work... I know most women love this, looking good and with as little work as possible.. One may also say wow, overalls won't I look like 10??? hahaha , I do agree that for some it may do just that, but then it's all about how you dress it up, as well as putting on some make up and just letting go.." Looking young aint never hurt no body" How about this look??? Not so 10 is it?? What I find though is people do know what they like, but they have a hard time of really putting stuff together or figuring out what goes with what.. (That's me in a nutshell) It is one thing to like overalls but what kind of shoes do I wear with it?? well, I did some thinking and looking around as for the denim short ov...

Unions more necessary than ever as defence against powerful interests | rabble.ca

Unions have come under harsh critique of late, most of this critique focuses on the negatives of unions and fail to take into consideration the positives and the achievements of unions. Unions have done a lot in the past. Things and times have changed and as such to make their relevance unquestionable unions need to revamp and change the times. The workforce has changed, the Outlook and expectations of workers are different from the past and the working environment/Economic climate is also different and as such Unions need to be strategic with policies to meet the needs of this changing workforce. With this said, we should not forget the accomplishments of unions and that workers continue to need a "Watch Dog" to protect them from the "Powerful Interests" The article below serves as a reminder of what Unions have achieved for workers and highlights issues that we have to be weary of in wanting to do away with 'The Union" more necessary than eve...

There is a hashtag going around twitter saying #Weareallmonkeys. This hashtag is supposed to be about saying #Notoracism, for me however it does the opposite. Racism is a serious issue and this makes it all seem like a joke. No longer do we think deep thoughts, it is all about a catch phrase, how many retweets and how many likes.  Why not just simply say #Notoracism ? That is enough to get me thinking positively, this #weareallmonkeys does not bring about positive thoughts, it brings about negative thoughts or it is just a joke straight out. The word racism and joke should not be aligned. Gone are the days when people think and debate constructively about issues and find constructive ways of solving them. Taking a picture eating bananas for me is not a way of solving racism, it just shows immaturity and ignorance. Thousands and Thousands of people are affected by racism daily and to solve this issue we have to revisit  education and socialization. We as parents nee...

Hazel Eyes

Image
That eye, that likes to look at me, when i am not looking That eye, that sees me when i can't even see myself All Hazel, all pure, all heartfelt That eye, that has seen so much and cried so much more That eye, that looks beyond my past, what i have done and sees a future A future that's filled with hope, joy and laughter That hazel eye, has drawn me in, is my mirror of what is to come and what we will be That eye. that I try to hide from, but yet it beckons me That eye, that holds no judgement That eye, that sees me, and accepts me for me That hazel eye, I dream about is forever constant That eye belongs to you and me That eye, haunts my dreams and my moments of being awake That eye, never let me forget from whence i came That hazel eye, I live for, to please and never let a tear drop fall That hazel eye, it calls me, it tells me that i am needed and loved That hazel eye, has no fear, no broken promises linger there That eye, that eye sees me, and i ...

#Bringbackourgirls

What a shame to see the little or no media coverage given to the missing Nigerian girls.. Most of the coverage is being propelled by average people like you and I. Who are driven to tweet and write about it because we realise that the large Media houses and Governments aren't doing enough about it. Constantly people are at us that we like to play the "race card", but what does a race do when things like this happen. We are talking about 234 girls who were taken by terrorists. Look at the events in Ukraine and how several countries have united against Putin..Why aren't these girls as important? why aren't these parents as important??  Look at the Malaysian airline incident and how many countries have come together to join in the search. What is so different about this case? When we see all these cases being addressed, we then look for reasons and two comes up, Poverty and Race.  If Nigeria was one of the richest countries in the world, i am sure the m...

A post-grad diploma does not guarantee Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada

Many of us think that going to school in Canada for a graduate programme or a degree is an automatic guarantee for PR status. Well that is not the case, especially in Ontario. It may be easier for other provinces that are not as highly populated. However in Ontario it is a 50/50 chance of getting your (PR) this way. It is a 50/50 chance, because even after you have been granted a 3 year work permit, your area of study must be on the list of Canadian desired workers. You may also find out that you may need to get an LMO.(Labor Market Opinion) It is therefore very important that you seek legal advice and keep checking the CIC site from the day you set foot in Canada for school because immigration policies change constantly. Make sure you know where you stand at all times, so that you can make the necessary adjusted needed to keep you in line with the policy. Also, make sure you choose a school that is abreast of the immigration procedures,  Centennial Colle...
